TEMBA Gazette, Running Commentary, May 21, 2010

Much has happened since the last issue of the TEMBA Gazette. Most notably, perhaps, was the Class of 2011’s trip to Beijing. I had planned to write a colorful commentary on our week-long adventure. From climbing the Great Wall to enjoying late night karaoke to witnessing the flag ceremony in Tiananmen Square to eating fried scorpions at the night market, the experience provided ample fodder for an entertaining commentary. Enter Mark Hardin, MBA ’11.

Yep, when Blake Willeford, MBA ’10, sent us his exclusive video of Hardin’s impromptu stand-up act from our Beijing alumni reception, I knew I was beat. No way could I top his roughly eight-minute unscripted monologue about our hotel “amenities” and the joys of class participation in a Doggett-led class. Why, even I was the subject of a clever Hardin jab.

Special thanks to Mark for the entertainment and to Blake… not necessarily for recording this segment, but for mercifully sparing us from seeing Rob Moser’s drawn-out moth ball joke again. It was painful enough in person. Enjoy.
